Not all are confirmed, and some of the cast members may have other people posting for them on social media. However, I’m excited because this is a good mix of rookies and MTV brought back legendary veterans who are either feared or major manipulators. I’m not a big fan of AYTO cast members being on The Challenge because they’re not really athletes, but I know they’re good for the drama.

As far as theme, I believe that it could be a couples vs singles game, but the location will be in Colombia.

Play Smarter, Not Harder

The episode that Challenge fans have been waiting for finally arrived. Tuesday night, The Challenge: Invasion of The Champions had my eyes glued to the TV and excited for next week’s episode.  If drama, love triangles, and kick ass challenges/eliminations arouses you, find a way to watch last night’s episode.

The episode started out in a club, which is great that they can finally get out of the house. Nicole found herself chasing  flirting with both Cara Maria and Laurel. She states in her interview that she wants both of them and that “Laurel looks good, but Cara Maria looks better.” Ouch. I know Laurel has to cringe watching Nicole who’s currently her girlfriend, say harsh things. Nicole is all over Cara Maria, who isn’t into to Nicole, but loves the attention.  So, a rejected Nicole finds her way to Laurel, who feels played, rejects her as well.

A sad, bitter Laurel goes and admits to Amanda that she pranked her by putting chips in her bed sheets. Laurel states it’s at love, that it was just a joke. However, Amanda blows the situation up. Amanda finds herself in a screaming match with Laurel until the CAMILA-nator comes to save the day. At this point, its Amanda against two vets, and her bestie Smashley didn’t have her back because she’s “avoiding drama”. Ashley’s head is in the right spot. Avoid drama, play the game, and win the challenge. Making enemies for future challenges is never a good thing unless their filming for Rivals 4.

The challenge next morning was wet platform with two ropes over 200 ft of water. Each component had to hold on to the rope as long as possible while the platform moved. However, the underdogs and champs were both on the platform together which made things even harder for those who have no upper body strength. The girls went first and as soon as the platform moved everyone fell into the water except for Cara Maria and Camila. Camila then decides to wrap her entire body in the rope avoiding the fact that if something went wrong she could potential kill herself. TJ tells her to unwrap herself. Cara Maria falls into the water first and is upset because she felt that it was unfair that Camila won, making her safe for elimination. However, the only reason why Cara Maria is complaining was because she played harder, not smarter. If Cara Maria used the same strategy as Camila she wouldn’t be complaining. If it was considered ” unfair” , production would’ve DQ Camila.

Back at the house, Laurel and Cara Maria have a heart to heart about their friendship and Nicole. Both of them admit that it’s going to be hard going up against each other in elimination. Cara Maria also admits that her flirting with Nicole isn’t serious that it’s just for fun. She advises Laurel to tell Nicole how she feels.  Laurel finds Nicole and the talk doesn’t go so smoothly. Nicole doesn’t see any fault for her flirting with Laurel and Cara Maria because everyone is single. They confess that they both have feelings for each other, but Laurel says she’s done feeling like she’s being played. This is the first time that viewers have gotten to see Laurel become a vulnerable person and it’s the first time she’s pursued a woman in life. So, it heartbreaking to see Nicole put Laurel through all this. However, we know due to their Instagram’s that they get a happy ending. For Nicole, her worst nightmare is happening…she’ll be forced to only play with one girl. Nicole wants both, but fate didn’t work out in her favor.

The Champs have to play classic challenge games in elimination rounds, which are very physical. So the boys started it off and Darrell has Johnny Bananas shaking. Darrell has won 4 challenges back to back. Johnny Bananas has won 6 total challenges, just sporadically. The game consisted of a ring where players couldn’t step out of, a bin that’s in the middle of the ring, and a ball. The offensive player has to get the ball into the bin without letting the ball hit the ground or go outside the ring. The defense player has to stop the offense player from getting the ball into the bin. The whistle blows and Bananas puts up a fight, but Darrell hits him too hard. Second whistle blew and Darrell was on offense and scored the ball into the bin while an out of breath Bananas is searching for strategy. The third whistle blows and the episode ends on a “to be continued…”.

Annoyingly, we won’t find out who’s going home til Tuesday, but my money is on Laurel and Darrell. Laurel hasn’t lost an elimination, has played with and against Cara, and although she is physically aligned with Cara’s strength  she plays smarter than her. Darrell is one of the best competitors to be on The Challenge and he still plays with agility, strength, and logic very well.

Shaking Things Up

Things were intense this week on The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions. Serious pranks were made, alliances started to shake, and an expected hook up took place.

Following up from last week’s elimination where Ashley K. and Zach were eliminated,  the cast got to have their first night out of the house. Everyone seemed to enjoy their time at the club especially Cory who couldn’t help but notice Camila’s Brazilian booty. Cory found himself later that night to be a lucky man when Camila found her way into his bed. I guess Kailah was just another notch on his belt because he didn’t seem to care the next morning when Camila teased him for hooking up with Kailah. Hopefully, Camila is careful when dealing with one of the biggest players in the challenge house.

The challenge this week was a food challenge. Food challenges are always tough because it shows the heart of each competitor. Food challenges typically don’t occur until the final round, but this episode was the exception.  Each team had to eat two round of spicy curry. The champs however, had to always eat double to make up for the lack of team members. The bowl had to be completely empty before the team could collect their puzzle pieces and race up the hill. The girl and guy on both teams, who reached the top of the hill received immunity from the elimination.

It was clear from the start that the champs were going to have the advantage because they’ve all-except Laurel have done an eating challenge in their finals. Unfortunately, the underdogs couldn’t get it together except for Shane. Shane finished his bowls, other people’s bowls, and continues to scream at his teammates as motivation. His teammates weren’t happy with him because he went a bit overboard, which helped the champs take the W for that challenge. By the end of the challenge he formed a secret alliance outside his own with Nicole. They both decided they would never say each other’s name. However, a sneaky Dario, heard the conversation and decided to tell everyone to avoid elimination.

Ashley, Sylvia, and Amanda were furious at Shane for making another alliance without including them. They wanted to play the game as friends and they have trouble understanding that the challenge is an individual game. Although, they now don’t trust Shane the snake, they still decided to vote in Dario instead of him. So, Dario was voted to go against Nelson in the elimination. Meanwhile, Sylvia felt that since she performed poorly today during the challenge she wanted to vote herself into elimination against the BarbieBeast Jenna.

Bananas the pot stirrer decided to prank the underdogs by removing their toilet seat and putting it into the lake. Such a small prank made Smashley on the verge of quitting the show completely. Apparently, she spends “80% of her time in the house on the toilet”. The champs are laughing their asses off because the pranks were considered nothing to back in the day pranks. Pranks on old school challenge days were cruel and funny. They use to throw cookies at Mike while he was sleeping, Preston would strip and try to caress all the men in the house, and Knight made a trail of ants come into Preston’s mattress. These newcomers are only good for starting drama and making up rumors. Which is why they were furious when the female champs crumbled up chips inside their sheets. Amanda and Ashley both took their anger out on Hunter, who then ended his challenge “relationship” with Ashley.

The elimination aka The Fortress was interesting tonight. There hung a huge bell with idols full of powder hanging from it. In the center of the bell, was a long rope which each competitor had to use to break the idols. However, the more idols each competitor broke, the more they were covered in powder causing them to not be able to see anything. For players like Dario and Sylvia this was their problem throughout the elimination and it caused them to lose. Jenna and Nelson both had rhythm and strategy to help them keep their spot in the house. The episode ended with a sobbing Slyvia who states that she regrets voting herself in.

There’s an “I” in Team

Before last night’s episode, I considered every episode a pre-season to The Challenge because the show really wasn’t juicy until the vets invaded.

This episode it got REAL. TJ decided to throw another curve ball: each team will compete against their own. So, this means that the champions and underdogs will only go into eliminations rounds against each other, while competing throughout the show as a team. This changes everything. So, one week will be an elimination day for the champs and the following week will be an elimination day for the underdogs. However, the champions only have eight players while the underdogs have players. This will be interesting to see how this plays out because the champs could be at a slight disadvantage during each challenge like they were during last night’s challenge.

Finally, TJ gave the players a physical challenge. This weeks challenge was called Knockout. Which meant players had to get a hold of a ball and score it in their designated tunnel. Since it was an underdog elimination day, the first guy and girl to score got to choose who was going into the elimination round. So, guys were against the girls and vets were against the underdogs. The challenge may sound easy, but of course the vets and the underdogs were putting up a fight.

First round was left to the girls and the underdogs took the win  W with 0 points from the girl vets on the score board. Smashley  Ashley M. scored her point and was ready to “throw people under the bus”. When it came down to the men, the lack of players on the vet side didn’t effect them as badly as the female champs. This challenge was brutal, low blows were taken, knee to the groin action was happening, but in the end the underdogs got the W with a score of 2-3. Dario, was the first guy to score which he was ecstatic about his win until he learned that him and Ashley had to determine on the spot which teammate of theirs were going in to elimination. Dario chose Sylvia because he said that she was the last person to get her key into The Oasis. Ashley choose Tony because she didn’t know who else to pick.

The vets get to move in to The Oasis which makes some cast members like Jenna, walk on egg shells. “I just want to be Zach. I don’t want closure, I don’t want us to end.” Jenna and Zach had a year long relationship until last season when Jenna found out that Zach was at home cheating with a girl named Brooke. Fortunately for Jenna, Zach can’t seem to take his eyes off of Jenna and her butt. Rookie Andy Dick  Nicole, finds Miss Cara Maria extremely attractive and offers to share her bed along with a nice back rub. Cara Maria curves Nicole very quickly stating, “I think she wants my vagina, but I don’t want her vagina. I just want to make it the final and win.” Dario has his eyes on champ Ashley K. and she’s crushing on him too.

Meanwhile, the underdogs are having a hard time coming to an agreement on what guy and girl from their team should go up against Sylvia and Tony since they were all separated in two different alliances. Shane gets antsy because he thinks his guy teammates wants to throw him in. His game plan is to stay out of elimination rounds and go to the final with his friends. This rubs Cory the wrong way because he feels that since they have to compete as one team he only wants strong competitors left for the final. So the underdogs, cannot come to a final decision and decide everyone is still in their alliances even though they are one team. The champs are just watching the underdogs squirm and are laughing because “The alliances are all wrong. Alliances should be made upon players who are the strongest not just because their you’re friend” says Johnny Bananas. Bananas is right. Back in the old challenge days all the best competitors were in alliances (with the exception of CT because he’s a beast), there were no layups, and each player was a true athlete.

Whispers spread among the house that Kailah, the most hated girl in the house may go against Sylvia. Kailah then preceded to drink vodka and red bull to drown her troubles away. She found her beau, Cory pleading to him “I need you for everything”, as she shuts the bathroom door. She then passes out and pees on herself while she’s sleeping. Cory see this and immediately ends their relationship. A heartbroken Kailah, overhears Cory telling Amanda that he never really liked Kailah and can’t be with someone who wet the bed. The episode ends with Kailah crying her eyes out and Nicole stating “If you came here looking for love, you’re on the wrong show.” Little did Nicole know that she was foreshadowing her own words.

Keys to Paradise

This week’s episode of The Challenge went how I predicted. The final four keys were given to the people I expected and MTV didn’t show much of the champs invading until the very end. This really irked me, but I understand MTV edited this episode to keep viewers hungry for more. Congrats MTV because I want to skip the rest of this week just to see next Tuesday’s episode. Too bad my dreams will not come true.

The episode kicks off with Kailah and Cory flirting and romantically making out on the beach. Even though Cory is known to be a player on every challenge he comes on while Kailah is notorious for being a notorious flirt, I still love watching them go at it. Also, Latoya and  Nelson get it on and she drunkly tells him that she wants both of them to get their key to The Oasis, so they can have some “private time”. However, this romance got heated just as it was going to end. Lucky for me, because they were both boring together.

The final challenge for players to earn their key to the Oasis involved the challengers to be caged in. Sylvia, Latoya, Amanda, Shane, Anthony, and Nelson are the only people who didn’t earn their spot in the house. Only two girls and two guys would be able to get a key and I was banking on Shane. Each player started off in a caged box which spun them around circles. After their box hit the ground, the players had to find a way to move their cage down the hill close to the finish line. When the player reached a third of the way, they each had to pull a rope to attain their key, unlock themselves out of the cage, and then run to the finish line. This challenge sounded easy, but it was an endurance based challenge that only Shane and Amanda had heart enough to win.

As for the elimination, if you’re  not a fan of the Stair Master at the gym, you won’t be a fan of this elimination. Thailand stair are no joke and each competitor had to race up the stairs as part of the elimination. Anthony and Latoya lost the race while Nelson and Sylvia got excited about sitting  comfy in The Oasis with their friends.

I’ve watched 16 out of 29 seasons of The Challenge, and never have I ever seen a Challenge house this beautiful. However, I know that this challenge house will be broken into very fast. Smashley Ashley and Hunter were the first couple to put the boom-boom room house to use. Their sweet country love is adorable for now. They have no idea what is in store for them… the champs.

The episode ends with Host TJ Lavin and the challengers standing the next challenge. The Champions invade, leaving the challengers shook. Every guy looks at CT and are surprised. Meanwhile, BarbieBeast Jenna, doesn’t notice any other champ except for her cheating ex Zach. She confides in an interview that she thought she was over him, but as soon as she saw him all her feelings came back. Just like that the episode ended, but MTV graciously provided us with a tease-worthy preview for next week. Which involves Zach who can’t keep his eyes of Jenna, some late night skinny-dipping, and Kailah going all the way with Cory, and the challengers getting their asses handed to them by the champs.

Next Tuesday at 9pm hookups will happen, vets will take over the house, and some alliances will shake.

Earn Your Stripes

Tuesday night, the third episode of The Challenge: Invasion of The Champions premiered and surprisingly it was entertaining. I say surprisingly because they’re few veterans right now in the first few episodes, so they’re are mostly people who haven’t been on the show. However, these new kids are making a name for themselves.

The episode starts off with Smashley, Ashley M.  flirting with newbie AYTO star, Hunter. Which is a bit interesting because Hunter is a real down to earth guy who seems to like good girls. Well Ashley M. may be a good girl this season, but my mind goes back to when she had sex last season, on the first night with the whole house watching. Regardless of her character, this new couple pair up during this week’s challenge and seem to be the dynamic duo.

The  challenge this week, involved everyone except for the people who have a key to The Oasis, to participate. Each pair had to get into a human size shell where one person stood up and paddled while the other person were on their knees paddling. They had to go through four check points to collect a sack of coconuts and then make it back to the beach to shoot them in a basket. Ashley M. and Hunter won this challenge and Hunter was a sore winner and started randomly taking shots at Cory.

Cory is confused on Hunter is talking shit about him because Hunter has never won a challenge besides that day, it’s his first time being on this show, and he hasn’t earned his stripe. Hunter immediately states that he wants Cory to go in the elimination round and Cory takes it like the GOAT he is. However, he confides in his past challenge partner, Ashley M. to let him be the house vote and for her to pick either Shane or Theo to go against. Ashley M. doesn’t make any promises, but ultimately she decided to vote in Theo and let Cory be the house vote.

Theo is ecstatic about going up against Cory. He gets cocky and says how he is a better competitor and can beat him at anything. Theo instantly rubbed me the wrong way when he said this because he hasn’t proved himself yet. Cory has been on three challenges and placed in the top three at least two times. Newbie Anika rubs me the wrong way when she says she wants to take on the BarbieBeast herself, and she implies that Jenna isn’t smart enough to beat her if the elimination round is a puzzle. Which is crazy because Jenna has been on four challenges and placed in the top three each time. Also, Jenna is an elimination queen she’s 8-0. However, I respect Anika because she says she believes to be the best you have to beat the best.

The elimination round starts off with them hiking up two mountains. TJ then states that they will be jumping off the mountain grabbing the most balls as possible. Whoever, has the fastest time, holding the most balls win. Cory and Anika jumps off fast and with ease. BarbieBeast happily jumps off two seconds faster that Anika, sending her home. Ironically, Theo quits immediately and TJ calls him out, telling him that he’s a quitter. I think it’s funny how much shit Theo talked and he couldn’t back it up. He is a pure example of why I firmly believe that rookies need to earn their stripes by going into elimination rounds to prove themselves. Too many rookies talk a lot of smack and never back it up.

Meanwhile on the Champ Cam, we see the veterans leaving their house to meet up with each other at what appears to be a hotel. TJ sends them their jerseys and the vets are off to Thailand. I love that they’re going to be the season twist. They will definitely shake up the house and break up some of the alliances. I’m mostly excited to see vets Laurel and CT because they’re both monsters in this game and haven’t been on the show for a few years. So, hopefully MTV has the vets come wreck things in next week’s episode.

A House Divided

tony_challengeA few days ago, MTV blessed viewers with a TWO-HOUR premiere of The Challenge: Invasion of The Champions. The first two episodes came out with a bang and ended with me itching for more.

The rules of the game are different this season. Instead of living in a luxurious house, the challengers have to earn their stay into the “oasis”. The only way to earn their key to the oasis is to either win a challenge or win an elimination. No one can enter the oasis until all the keys are given, and the number of keys are LIMITED. Until then, the challengers most live in a shelter on the beach. They sleep on a thin mat, bathe in the ocean, and have ZERO privacy.

The first challenge involved the rookies  challengers to find a way to get over a big wall using clay, then find a way to get underneath the second wall, and the finish a physical puzzle. Within just a few moments of the challenge starting alliances were formed. Barbie Beast Jenna, Tony, Kailah, and Cory were against the rest of the rookies. The Challenge ended with Marie and Bruno losing, Nicole and Dario earning a key to the Oasis, and the house completely divided.

Sparks started to fly between to newbie Kailah and Cory which isn’t suprising since Cory is player. Although, they didn’t hook up they discussed about a previous time off the show when they originally wanted to have sex. Marie and AYTO cast member, Anthony connected. They were a complete yawn. Nicole broke down and confided to Bruno that her girlfriend ended their relationship because she wanted to come on the show. Sadly, her girlfriend didn’t realize that Nicole wanted to win the money to put a ring on it.

Snippets of the champions showed throughout the episodes, and the veterans have been putting in work. CT revealed he has a son, Bananas and Cara Maria basically lives in the gym, Ashley believes she’s now a better competitor because she does cross fit, Zach isn’t impressed with the rookie but excited to see his ex, Jenna , and Laurel has been living her life in Montana.

Host TJ Lavin revealed that men vote women into eliminations individually and vice versa for the women. Kailah the most hated girl in the house was voted in by all the men except for Tony. Tony was voted by all the women in house except for his RW cast mate Nicole. What was wrong about this was Tony could’ve had a chance to avoid the elimination, but the deciding vote was left to his fake” friend”/ former RW cast mate Slyvia. Slyvia was weak and decided with her alliance because she was afraid to get voted in the next challenge. She betrayed her friend for girls she just met. All the other girls excluding Jenna, hates on Kailah because she’s a strong competitor who doesn’t take shit from NO ONE.

The elimination round is similar to football except for they’re trying to get four of the opponents 50-pounded bags to their side. Kailah annihilated Marie and Tony killed Bruno as they earned their place in the Oasis. I was happy to see them come back, but most of the cast members won’t. However, they still are unaware that the veterans are coming. Which will be great for Jenna, who has a target on her back for being friends with Kailah. For the other alliance, they’ll have to fight hard because these veterans have a reputation of destroying rookies.

The trailer showed a sneak peek of the champions creating some chaos. The bully, and toughest competitor Laurel is seen getting in a fight with loud mouth rookie Amanda. Zach and Jenna are shown getting cozy, so hopefully they’ll get back together. Newbie Nicole is shown trying to be a player hooking up with both veterans and best friends Laurel and Cara Maria. MTV has gotten me hungry for the next episode and my eyes will definitely be glued to my TV every Tuesday night at 9.

The Return of CT

Only four more days until The Challenge: Invasion of The Champions premieres and MTV is doing a lot of press for this upcoming season. Other than some new rookies, many viewers will tune in just to see some of their favorite vets compete i.e CT Trambruello.

This is the first season that the big-bad wolf CT will officially compete since his on and off again Challenge lover, Diem Brown died of Cancer during his latest season, Battle of the Exes II in 2015. CT is the competitor that we all want to hate, but always love. In the past he’s been a fighter, which has gotten him kicked off of some challenges. He’s a force to be reckon with and definitively  a fan favorite.

MTV has dedicated a tribute to CT that will premiere an hour before the Challenge: Invasion premieres. For serious challenge fans, this is a big deal because we haven’t seen him on a challenge on three years.

Here are some of my top CT moments throughout his challenge history:

  1. CT carries Johnny Bananas as a backpack in an elimination. This elimination is the biggest elimination ever in Challenge history and what started the well-known rivalry between Bananas and CT.
  2. Any moment with CT and Diem. They are beauty and the beast. Whenever they were on a challenge together sparks flew. 6 years with them was not enough!
  3. Adam vs CT rivalry . During the Challenge: Duel II , CT was kicked off for his fight with Adam. The cause of the fight: his on and off challenge girlfriend, Diem.
  4. CT and Wes fight. CT and the snake Wes never got along. Wes it the biggest manipulator in the history of the challenge and CT doesn’t take shit from anyone. Which is why he antagonized Wes for HOURS on Rivals I. This moment was hilarious.
  5. CT and Faith Brown compete. Although Faith was never an official cast member of The Challenge, her sister Diem was. In honor of of Diem’s death, her sister Faith and CT make a short appearance on The Challenge: Bloodlines (CT’s first appearance since the season Diem passed away on) to demonstrate a challenge.

CT seems to be a complete asshole, but he’s an amazing competitor, Also, my favorite guy who’s been on The Challenge because he doesn’t submit to play the game by anyone else’s rules except for his own.

Don’t forget to watch  CT’s tribute episode February 7th, at 8 PM and the premiere of The Challenge: Invasion of The Champions right after! It’s going to be a very interesting season!

Invasion Coming Soon

This blog will pertain to all things about The Challenge, including after-shows, pre-shows, reunions etc. My opinions, comments, and predictions will cover the entire show which will air on February 7th, at 9 PM on MTV.

With eleven more days until the premiere of The Challenge: Invasion of the Champions, MTV finally blessed everyone with a trailer, short teaser videos, and interesting cast bios. The theme of this challenge is the invasion. The cast is split up into two. One team is the Challengers, those who’ve never one a challenge. While the other team is the Champions, which is made up of beastly competitors like Laurel and CT. The Challenge will start of with only the challengers for ten days, and then the champions will be the plot twist this season. It makes sense to have the rookies compete against ultimate veterans-who’ve won one or more challenges.

This season definitely will be interesting based off the cast members. The Champions consist of : CT, Laurel, Cara Maria, Camila, Bananas, Darrell, Zach and Ashley. Ashley and Zach are hardly champions since they’ve only won one challenge and it was a team challenge. However, MTV probably wanted Zach to be surrounded by both of his insanely beautiful exes Ashley and Jenna. It’s always a good season when Laurel and CT together since they’ve both been on a hiatus from the show for over two years. Unfortunately, Bananas, the champion everyone loves to hate is back. It’ll be an interesting season for him in regards to his politics since he screwed his partner, Sarah over in the previous season. Camila is always great until she turns into the Camil-ANTOR which always affects her game. Cara Maria is back since winning Bloodlines, but with Laurel here this season she’ll definitely have to step it up. I’ve never watch Darrell, but according to social media, he is a challenge legend.

The Challengers team look very interesting. There are some rookies from Are You The One like Hunter, Anthony, Dario, Nelson, and Amanda. I don’t have much faith in any of the AYTO cast because most of the house are from Real World, and tend to send AYTO cast mates home within the first couple of weeks. The rest of the cast are Anika,Ashley M., Jenna, LaToya,Kailah,  Marie, Nicole, Sylvia, Tony, Cory, Shane, and Bruno. Out of the challengers, Jenna and Cory are the only two people to ever place. Jenna’s been on the show three times and place second and third. Cory has been on the show twice and place second during the Bloodlines season. I have no doubt that Jenna, Nicole, and Cory will make it far if they don’t place.

The trailer previewed the Camil-ANTOR possibly getting into a brawl, a steamy hook up between Kailah and someone, Cara Maria and Nicole kicking ass in a physical battle, and the champion invading the house. Based off the trailer, I predict that Kailah will be hooking up with Cory, CT will destroy Zach in a physical challenge, Camila will possibly be fighting either with Bananas or Kailah, and Jenna will be distracted by her two-timing ex, Zach.

MTV also released a short video of the champions talking smack. The video was entertaining, goofy, and showed each competitors personality well. It’s going to be a good season, mostly because of the champions. I’m excited to see how some of the challengers compete since some of the rookies tend to only cause drama instead of compete at a chance of winning some money.
